Fauve covers “Between My Legs” by O'Gonzo
Fauve assumes the persona of a perverse master of ceremonies by giving his cover of the “Between My Legs” track a 100% synthetic feel, highlighting O’Gonzo’s industrial background - the city of Cincinnati, USA. His feline voice, both supple and strong, merges effortlessly with the rustle of the haunting, yet seemingly compliant, background vocals. ”You know perfectly well where I need you...”. Taking over Travis Jones’s lyrics for himself, Fauve plays the perfect tough guy, bellowing out his release with his “Between My Legs” exhortation. A feisty track.
Fauve (Lausanne, Switzerland)
A Swiss multi-instrumentalist, Fauve (alias Nicolas Juillard) broke out of the fold with his first album “Fauve” (Gentlemen Records, 2006) that finely illustrated his bittersweet pop compositions, an album on which he did pretty much everything (“writing, vocals, instruments, production, arrangements, mixing - like Prince but less funky” - he commented at the time). Six years later, he is back multitasking with his tougher “Clocks’n’Clouds” album (Two Gentlemen, 2011). An album that boasts finely structured songs combining dark melodies and focused lyrics that try to make sense of our society’s collective unease.
